I am a multimedia artist who experiments with the movement of form between the traditional, contemporary and human to material relationships. An example would be my experiments with the form through space in ways the materials take up space and how that engages the audience’s experience which most of my installation pieces execute through with sculpture, video art and sound. It is related to how I perceive the world and conceptualize that through art. I look at many factors that bring about conversations of our natural environment to recognizing our subconsciousness, our different senses and understanding which I find are compelling because we created these relationships and connections.
To me, art is a form of expression, an image, an understanding, a piece of me and an abstract form. At a young age, I discovered art and it has been my creative outlet since. Art lets me step outside my personal bubble and I am interested in testing the boundaries of my own limitations and others. The visualization and bridging the idea of what makes one’s own identity in terms of the social aspects, political aspects, cultural aspects and even emotions through art forms leads me to a deeper understanding of meanings and concepts in life. It furthers my investigations of my own culture and identity to how my experiences affect and get incorporated into my practice as an artist. Something about sharing that experience with the audience is personal and fascinating. I see my work as a learning experience and every project is a step toward being a contemporary artist.
