I capture reality. Sometimes these realities are my own life experiences perceptible to the world in a form of a film and sometimes it’s the real-life stories of people that inspire me. I got influenced with the idea “noticing” and how it can create a perception in our mind just by looking at something. Therefore, I started with taking photographs of landscapes, candid moments of people around me and abstract art. This exploration helped me to shape stories and engage more deeply in time and space and developing an interest in film making. I specialize in cinematography and creating a visual form of dynamics for stories and thoughts and make it presentable to the people through the medium of Film. I have a keen interest in the latest camera technology and its power of modulation of time to create great cinematic moments. It’s like an alteration of time to record your present, saving it as a past for the future to see it. I am currently on an ongoing process of recording and filling the small fragments of my life with colors, nature and travel experiences for the world to see it. I was born in Pakistan and lived there for 18 years of my life before moving to Canada to study film making at Simon Fraser University. I consider this an opportunity to explore new cultures, traditions and get to know the world by seeing it through my eyes. My name is PARAS RATHI and I am an aspiring Photographer, Filmmaker, and humanist.
